“Over-horsed” what a great term, I heard it recently from a client and it really stuck! Every horse person at some point, has been over-horsed. In case you're not following me over-horsed means that your animal is too much for you to handle. While in your later years of horse ownership this can be a great thing to really spark some serious learning, it was becoming clearer and clearer to me that my daughter was not ready for this learning curve. We gave the mare back and brought home our pony.
The change in her smile was unbelievable! I have my bubbly happy child back, eventually she will be upsizing to a larger pony and Dreamer will have to find another little girl to enrich. One day Emmie will come face to face with being over-horsed again and she’ll be ready from all the positive experiences her first pony left her with.
