For the past 10 years I’ve been working my way through the horse world, not as a horse person so much, but as a body worker. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing education a horse person could ever ask for and I’m not talking about the education that trained me to become the body worker I have become.
I’m talking about the education my clients have given me that has made me the horse person I am becoming.
Through all the years of inspiring stories and shared ideas every one of my clients has changed me for the better.
As most of you know we’ve now started our great northern adventure. The first load is half packed and the house is about to go on the market. It’s happening, we are moving ahead with a life I thought was only possible in dreams.
After a full day of waxing and waning stress regarding my absent child it dawned on me. I’m heard bound. With that the 8 years of struggles with my herd bound mare became crystal clear. All her thoughts, and fears about the well being of her pony made perfect sense. With this I found a new place of compassion in my heart for her struggles.
During a recent conversation with my brother he mentioned he was concerned about me moving to an island far away and not having Brent at home full time. He was worried that I would be lonely. “Don’t worry I have horses” I responded. He laughed and said that only works for so long.
Measurement, a tool used by the human race for as long as we could keep count. In fact measurement is so ancient and familiar to us that we forget how handy it use to find ways to measure the little things in life. Little things can be a multitude of different things but today we're going to take a look at the importance of measurement in our lives as caring horse givers.
